Johnnie Richard Dodson, 70, of Alexander, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006. Born on February 21, 1936 in Mountain View, Arkansas to Alton and Joyce Risner Dodson, he was a graduate of Mountain View High School and was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for thirty years. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Goldie Wallis Dodson; daughter, Rebecca Joyce Thacker (Todd); brothers, James A. Dodson, David L. Dodson and Oliver A. Dodson (Carolyn); sister, Anita Nichols; and three grandchildren, Justin, Peyton and Ethan Thacker. Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bruce Dodson.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Crystal Hill Baptist Church, Rev. Larry Ballard officiating, followed by graveside service at 4:00 p.m. at Levisy Flat Cemetery in Mountain View (Stone County). Visitation will be on Monday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200.
