Johnny Beard

Johnny Franklin Beard, Jr., 43, of Sherwood was called Home on Monday, August 28, 2017. He was born October 4, 1973 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Since 2001, he worked for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette in the Maintenance Department. He was a devoted caretaker for his father. John was born into the First Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Beard; father, Johnny Franklin Beard, Sr.; siblings, Cathy Dennis (Paul), Johnny Dale Beard, Leeta Ellis, Steven L. Beard (Kerri) and Jo A. Beard; seven nieces, two nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his infant son.
A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church, Calvary Road, North Little Rock. Burial will follow in Gravel Ridge Cemetery.
