Johnny "JR" Raines

Johnny “JR” Raines, age 60, of Kirby, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was born on July 8, 1963, in California, the son of Harold Loyd Raines and Clydie Sue Smith Raines.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Billy Dock Lambert and Kenneth H. Raines.

JR enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, especially grilling, and was a collector of many things.  He also enjoyed watching old western shows and reading both westerns and John Grisham books.  JR loved to go hunting for arrowheads and always enjoyed having a good time with his buddies.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Stacey and Luke Black of Norman, Hannah and Blake Fletcher of Alpine, Katlyn Raines of Malvern and Shawna Romero of Bonnerdale; eleven grandchildren, Peyton, Kadence, Rooster and Ava Grace Black, Blakely, Brooklynn and Miya Fletcher, Olive Raines, Koda, Kanyan and Kitka Romero; his sister, Vicky Wilson of Murfreesboro; his half-sister, Tammy Parker and her husband, Randy, of Malvern; his stepsister, Terina Cook, and her husband, Scott, of Amity; the mother of his children, Sandra Ball of Bonnerdale; his special fur-baby, BB; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 4, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Boots Donaldson officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.

Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery in Amity.

Pallbearers will be Luke Black, Blake Fletcher, Chad Smith, Barry Lambert, Seth Davidson and Beau Graves.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Anderson and Jerry Wilson.
