Johnnye Myrick

Johnnye Mae (Hood) Myrick, (87) of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at home with her family. She was born December 3, 1929 in Okolona, MS to the late Johnny and Lucille Hood. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She attended the First Christian Church of Beebe, Arkansas.

Johnnye is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edgar Hood, Kenneth Hood and Wayne Hood; and her sisters, Leigh Hutton and Marcella Williams, and one grandson, Michael Phillips.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Troy Myrick of the home; son, James Phillips (Gail) of Harahan, LA; daughters, Shirley Fisher of Cabot, AR, Karan Stewart (Eric) of Reno, TX, and Dianne Vaughan (Grant) of North Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Kristy Walters (Lance) of Sherwood, AR, Laura Tucker (Greg) of Sherwood AR, Chris Fisher of Cabot, AR, Russell Phillips (Sarah) of Rochester, MN, Jaclyn Derreberry of Harahan LA, Leah Phillips of Liberty, TX, and Jessica Stewart of Paris, TX; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Halock of Effingham, IL, and Barbara Harrison of Beebe, AR; brothers, Thomas Hood of Houlka, MS, Dale Hood (Eva) of Effingham, IL, William Hood (Norma) of Paris, TX, and Billy Hood (Cathy) of Houlka, MS; and many nieces and nephews.

A private, graveside service was held at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home on May 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
