Joseph Kasalko

Listen to Obituary

Joseph Charles (Jose') Kasalko passed away on July 19th after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in St. Louis on 4/2/1940, Jose' lived an incredible life. He was a vice-president at Continental Traffic Service, Inc in Memphis and retired in 2010.

Jose', as he was known to his friends, was able to accomplish one of his dreams by traveling the world. Egypt, Ireland, all over Europe, Russia. Too many tours to mention. Of course, there were great stories to be told about each trip. He was a collector of American Brilliant cut glass from the early 1900's and he loved to entertain with formal dinner parties. When not travelling Jose' and wife, Sally, would spend hours looking at the latest plant catalogues to select new flowers to beautify their yard and terrace. He loved to study about the plants and share them with friends and neighbors.

Jose' was an honorable man who never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sally Gibbons Kasalko, his brother, Bill (wife Janice) Kasalko, his cousin, Hulda Black and many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his dear friends Terry Studdard, Aaron Foster and David Demarco.

Special thanks to David and Susan Williamson, Donna Fagan, and Stephanie Starker who all were there, when he needed them. Per his request there will be no service. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
