Joy Nash Kelly, 90, of Fairfax Station, Virginia and formerly of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home Sunday, February 24, 2019. She was born January 3, 1929 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late James Herbert and Ruby Beatrice Nash.
Joy was a strong Christian woman and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed being involved in various activities and doing volunteer work there. Previously, she worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at the VA hospital in Little Rock, AR. Joy was a truly dedicated nurse, but retired to cherish being a full time mother to her only daughter. She loved children and took the best care of her own and many others in her home throughout the following years. She was also an animal lover and always had pets to whom she gave a wonderful life. They loved her dearly in return.
Survivors include her daughter Janet McKeown and husband Rick; grandchildren Kaylin Joy McKeown. Joy was preceded in death by her husband James J. “Jim” Kelly and three brothers O’Lynda, Jim and Don Nash.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to pet rescue FURR at Rescue.org.
Funeral services to be held at 10:30 am Friday, March 1, 2019 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel on Main St. The family will have visitation prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM in Lone Tree Cemetery, Stuttgart.
