Joyce Ashley, 88, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012. She was born to the late Conley and Berta Adams. Joyce and her husband previously owned Huggins Drug Store, where she worked for many years. Being a mother was the most important thing in her life and nothing meant more to her than her family and home. Joyce was a selfless lady who always put her family and others first.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Bryant Ashley, Jr. and wife, Karen and Randy Ashley and wife, Sharon, all of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, Lauren Montgomery and husband Blake, Daniel Ashley and fiancé Andrea, Nathan Ashley and wife, Samantha and Mary Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Laney Montgomery; brother, Jim Adams and wife Jackye, of Leslie, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Phoebe Adams, of Fayetteville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant Ashley, Sr.; brother, Lawrence Adams and her sister, Helen Adams.
A special thanks to mother's caregivers Ann and Anita for the loving care they gave to her.
Memorials may be made to Paul Holderfield, Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene Soup Kitchen, 116 S. Pine St., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
