Joyce Schwieter

Joyce Schwieter, age 79, of Hot Springs, died Monday, September 4, 2017. She was born on March 4, 1938 in Hot Springs, the daughter of Fred Lucas and Sybil Phillips Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Schwieter; her parents; her brother, Bob Lucas; and her sister, Mary Lorene Mahan. Joyce was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary for Judge Henry Britt for many years and later retired from the Arkansas State Health Department. She is survived by five nieces, Debbie and Sal DiLorenzo of Slidell, Louisiana, Kim and Wendell Adams of Mount Ida, Karen Beasley and Sandy and Jeff Barker, all of Hot Springs and Shannon and Chad Coulter of North Dakota; two nephews, Fred and Tambra Lucas of Pearcy and Robbie and Kathy Lucas of Hot Springs; and numerous extended family members. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
