Joyce Wells of North Little Rock passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024. She was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on November 5th, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas H. Baxter and Virginia B. Baxter; sister Norma Archer; brother William Baxter; her husband of 56 years, Howard S. Wells, and their infant son, Howard Jr.  

Joyce lived in the Amboy Community of North Little Rock for 62 years and enjoyed over 35 years square dancing with her husband, Howard. She is survived by her children, Anita Nevens (Bob) of Brentwood, Tennessee, William Ross (Phyllis) of Bismark, Tommie Butler and Cindi Thessing both of North Little Rock; grandchildren Steven (Shannon), Bobby (Chelsea), and Michael Nevens, Paul (Kathryn) Denton, Dr. Jeffrey Thessing (Courtney), and Courtney Wilkinson (Timothy); great-grandchildren Ryan and Allie Nevens, Tripp, Macie, and Landry Denton, and Jack Henry Thessing, Margot Thessing, and Gemma Wilkinson. She also had two great-great grandchildren, Ava and Lily Nevens.  

A visitation for Joyce will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A service will be held on Tuesday, April 16 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at 11:00 AM following the service.
