Juanese Lala C. Jenkins

March 4, 1925 — November 21, 2012

Juanese Lala C. Jenkins, age 87, of Glenwood, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in her home. She was born the second blessing of her identical twin, on March 4, 1925, in Ozan, to William Lee Cooley and Eunice Mae Jordan Cooley. On June 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Clarence A. "Shorty" Jenkins, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Bernese L. Collins; and her brother, Dennis Lee Cooley. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church and enjoyed garage sales, buying and selling items and was an avid collector. She was an excellent seamstress and the last few years, Juanese sewed and crocheted many blankets, washcloths, headbands and other items for the Operation Christmas Child Ministry that shares the gospel with children around the world. She is survived by her two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bobbie C. Russell of St. Augustine, Florida and Peggy Sue and Jack Mills of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 26, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Lee Walker and Bro. Kyle Cowart officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jansen Cowart, Bret Reid, Chance Reid, Wesley Womack, Mike Putz and Jamie Cowart. Honorary pallbearers will be Presley Robertson, Roger Tidwell and Frazier Cowart. Memorials may be made to the Operation Christmas Child Fund, c/o Murfreesboro First Baptist Church, 500 S. Washington, Murfreesboro, Arkansas, 71958. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
