Juanita Bernice Shumate

Juanita B. Crook Shumate, 93 of Little Rock, AR, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Juanita was born to the late Samuel Fair Crook, Jr. and Hazel Margaret McCutcheon Crook on February 18,1933 in North Little Rock, AR.

She was a former member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church and Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Retired after 34 years from BEI Motions Systems.

She was devoted to her family, loved old gospel music, camping, crafting, and weekly yard sale ventures with her sisters. Her Greatest Blessings called her Mamaw.

She is survived by daughter, Susan Griffis (Gary) of Little Rock, AR; Grandchildren, Bryan Shumate (Tammy) of Noel, MO, Brent Shumate (Jessica) of Hot Springs, AR, Brooke Shumate of Arkadelphia, AR and Dale Griffis (Callie) of Hensley, AR; Great-Grandchildren, Faith Shumate, Bryanna Haley (Hunter), Brendon Shumate (Cheyenne), Madison Roetzel (Noah), Blane Shumate (Abby), Malachi Shumate, Gavin Graves, Trenton Griffis, J.J. Bush; Great Great Grandchildren, Savannah, Emmett, and Eleanor Shumate, Aspen Haley; sister Judy Heavrin and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shumate was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of sixty one years; Bill M. Shumate; son, Billy Wayne Shumate; siblings Marie Walker, Ann Gentry and Bill Carlisle.

Family is planning a life celebration for the family.
