Judy Ann Broughton, 74, of Cabot, Arkansas, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 10, 2025.
Born on April 6, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She lived a life full of love, purpose, and quiet strength. When she received her cancer diagnosis, she did not dwell on the time she had left. Instead, she chose joy. Judy cherished every day she was given, no matter how she felt, and viewed each one as a gift from God. If she could speak to you now, she would gently remind you to choose joy. Be joyful always—and find the beauty even in life’s chaos.
As an educator, Judy poured her heart into her work, inspiring generations of students with her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support. To her colleagues, she was more than a coworker—she was a mentor, a compassionate listener, and a steady source of encouragement.
Her three grandchildren—William, Madison, and Lincoln—were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment with them. In her final hours, it was their voices that stirred her. She opened her eyes and smiled just for them—one last, beautiful gesture of the deep love they shared.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her only daughter, Ashley, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Her greatest hope was always for Ashley’s happiness, security, and fulfillment. Even in her final days, Judy focused her strength on preparing for her daughter’s future—one last act of a mother’s enduring love.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Broughton; her parents, Virginia and James Bedwell; her sisters, Jeanette and Janice; and her brother, Jerry.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Ashley, and son-in-law, Brad, along with her three cherished grandchildren: William (7), Lincoln (4), and Madison (4), who brought her endless joy.
In true Judy fashion, she requested that no formal service be held. Her family is honoring her wishes with a quiet remembrance and invites others to celebrate her life in their own meaningful way.
Though she is no longer with us, Judy’s love, strength, and grace live on. And in her own way, she leaves us all with this gentle reminder: choose joy—every single day.
