Judith Dianne King Johnston, age 78, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025. She was born on February 5, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Irma Gene Wilson and W.L. King, and by her sister, Nancy Race.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Joe Johnston; her sons, Ryan Johnston and his wife Kimberly, and Timothy Johnston and his wife Samia; her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Land and husband Peyton Land, Anna Paige Johnston, Sophia Johnston, and Jacob Johnston; and her niece, Shannon Perri.
Judy graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1964 and continued her education at Henderson. She married the love of her life, Joe Johnston, on June 20, 1970. Together, they shared many happy years filled with adventure and friendship. One of their favorite pastimes was riding side-by-sides with friends and spending time at DeGray Lake, making memories they both treasured.
Family was the heart of Judy’s life. She especially loved hosting holiday gatherings, with Christmas Eve dinner and birthday celebrations being among her favorites. Judy found great joy in tending to her plants, watching hummingbirds at her feeders, and could often be found shopping for a good deal. She was a constant presence at events supporting her grandchildren, always cheering them on with pride and love.
A memorial service for Judy will be held on Monday, January 5, 2025, with visitation from 4:00–5:00 p.m., followed by the service beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Judy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
