Judy Caye Martindale

Judy Caye Martindale, born August 5, 1948, passed away on July 2, 2026.

Judy proudly served in the United States Navy, holding the rank of Seaman Apprentice. Her date of rank was May 29, 1969, and she received an honorable discharge effective February 2, 1970. During her service, she earned the National Defense Service Medal.

Judy found her true calling working as a security guard at Children’s Hospital, where she remained until her retirement in 2011.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Jesse Martindale. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Bates and Jerry Bates; her sisters, Sharon Martindale and Kari Lynn Byrd, née Martindale; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Judy loved cats, especially her beloved Diva and Harley. She also had a deep love for lighthouses and singing. She will be remembered for her service, her strength, and the love she shared with her family and those closest to her.

A memorial service will be held in her honor Tuesday, July 14 11:30 A.M. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, starting at 1 P.M. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation and the Patriot Guard Riders organizations.
