Judy Ross

Judy Lavon Day Ross, 68, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Nashville, Arkansas, on December 1, 1949, to Joe Lee Day and Billie Jean Porter Day. She is preceded in death by her father.
Judy is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Ross, whom she met in high school in Sallisaw Oklahoma, 2 sons, Dwight Ross of Huntington Beach, California and Richard Ross of Vilonia, Arkansas, her mother, Billie Day of Texarkana, Texas, a brother, Dean Day (Debbie) of Texarkana, Texas, a sister, Brenda Day of Dierks, Arkansas, two Grandsons, Ian Ross (Jennifer) of Loganville, Georgia and Chance Ross of Fayetteville, Arkansas, two granddaughters, Camryn Ross of Sherwood, Arkansas and Kayleigh Ross of Vilonia, Arkansas, one great-grandson, Jonah Ross of Loganville, Georgia.
Judy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended the Somers Avenue congregation. Words cannot adequately describe Judy. She was a woman who simply loved God and every person God placed on her path. Her beauty radiated not only on the outside, but from deep within.
Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading her Bible, playing with her children and grandchildren-whom she adored, traveling and camping.
When her children were growing up and playing sports she never missed a game. It didn't matter if it was 103 degrees or 25 degrees with sleet and snow.
She retired from Little Rock Wastewater as a secretary after 25 years. They called her
the "go to person".
The family will receive friends Tuesday January 9 from 6-8 pm at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home, 7700 Hwy 107 Sherwood, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday January 10 at Somers Ave Church of Christ, 4801 Somers Ave, North Little Rock, Arkansas with Richard Kirkland officiating and burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery, Sallisaw, Oklahoma
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
