Judy Wirges Veregge

Judy Wirges Veregge, 75, of Sherwood passed away August 5, 2023.  She was born January 24, 1948, the oldest child of the late John and Florene Wirges.

She is survived by her daughter Beth Veregge, siblings: John Wirges III (Luann), Rick Wirges (Louise), Tom Wirges (Janie), Mark Wirges (Liz), and Mary Wirges Carelly (Jerry); nieces and nephews Kelley Sluder (Dave), John Wirges IV (Lauren), Rick Wirges, Jr. (Marla), Rob Wirges, Jeff Wirges (T.C.), Zach Wirges (Ami), Lisa Proffitt (Billy), Danny Wirges (Tabitha), Robin Gaylord (James), Bobby Taylor (Missi), Lori Kacir (Steve), Kristi Richard (Bruce); beloved great nieces and nephews: Blakely, Taylor, Luke, Tucker, Mallori, Ella, Ava, Nathan, Lindsey, Megan, Ryan, Lex, Rocco, Vivian, Jett, Jasper, Juliet, Mason, Izzy, Thaddeus, Tristen, and Ethan and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; John George Wirges, Jr. and Mattie Florene Craig Wirges.

Judy was proficient at knitting, crocheting, and collecting yarn and patterns.  An avid reader of mysteries and westerns, favorite authors were Mary Higgins Clark, Erle Stanley Gardner, Agatha Christie, Sue Grafton, Lilian Jackson Braun, Tony Hillerman, Zane Grey, Louis L’Amour and she loved Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden series.

She loved and owned every John Wayne movie, numerous TV westerns, Perry Mason, Sherlock Holmes and had an extensive collection of VCR tapes, DVD’s, CD’s and Cassette tapes.

Judy loved spending time with her extended family and enjoyed trips to Delight, Hot Springs and Branson. She loved Country Music and went to many Branson shows over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Visitation is 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral at 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
