Julia Jane Roll, 81, passed away on May 27, 2026 peacefully at her home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. She was born on February 26, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Irvin and Helen (Hughey) Hicks.
Julia Jane graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City and raised two boys while working on a degree in business. She graduated from St. Mary's of the Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana with a Bachelors in Business Management . She worked in management with several companies throughout her life, including with the Arkansas Health Department where she retired. She married Emric F. Roll on October 24, 1964 and together they raised two boys, Emric and Anthony. Julia was active in church activities throughout her life, including at First Lutheran Church (Benton, AR), Avilla Zion Lutheran Church, Friends in Christ Lutheran Church (Bryant, AR), and most recently attended Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, puzzles, crosswords, cooking and baking.
Julia Jane is survived by her loving husband, Emric F. Roll and her son, Emric F. Roll II (Patricia). She is preceded in death by her other son, Anthony I. Roll. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kaitlin R. Roll (Jacqueline) and Caleb E. Roll and her siblings Harry Hicks (Deborah) and James Hicks (Stacie) as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers, Irvin Lee and David Earl and her sister, Sharon Goode.
A private family service will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local Alzheimer's and Dementia research organizations.
