June Blome

June G. Blome, age 93, passed away on Sunday, October 9th. She was suffering from late stage dementia and had been a resident of Little Rock for 17 years.

June was born on January 23, 1923 in Montgomery, Alabama and grew up in Pensacola,
Florida. She attended Florida State University and married Army-Air Force
Captain Everett W. Blome in 1944. After the war they moved to Wheaton, Illinois
where they raised two sons. A stay at home mom, June was active in many civic
endeavors, including the local hospital guild, garden clubs, and later as a
volunteer at the Art Institute of Chicago. She was a lifelong member of the Daughters of The American Revolution.

Her husband Bill passed away in 2010 after 66-years of marriage and June lived out her remaining years in assisted living.

June is survived by two children and their wives: Richard Blome (Wendy) of McLean, Virginia and Ronald Blome (Carolyn) of Little Rock. Grandchildren are Meg Blome of Houston, Texas, Erin Blome Parrish of Little Rock, Jeffrey Blome of Little Rock and Cara Blome of Longmont, Colorado. She is also survived by the bright light of her last year, great-granddaughter, Adelaide Parrish.

The family extends their great appreciation to the staff of Clarity Pointe and Fox Ridge in Little Rock and to Hospice Home Care and to our Homeality caregiver, Bridgette White. We also thank the caring doctors and staff at Little Rock Eye Clinic and the Wound Care Center at Arkansas Heart Hospital.

June will be reunited with her beloved husband at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in a private service. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. June's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
