With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Kay Campbell, known affectionately to her family and friends as "KK." Born on December 1, 1959, in Glendale, California, Karen lived a life rich in love, warmth, and dedication to those around her. She passed away on August 11, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by the comfort of her family. A longtime resident of Sherwood, Arkansas, Karen left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy; her father, James Richard “Jimmy” Caldwell; her mother, Melda “Jean” Caldwell; her sister, Tena Hum; her brother, Jimmy Charles Caldwell; and her nephew, John Blake Hum.
She is survived by her daughter, April Sims (Jody); her son, Chase Campbell (Amanda); her five grandchildren: Madeline Kay, Jace, Emerson, Fox, and Walker; her sister, Carol Hum (Jerry); her sister, Sherrill “Sheka” Golden (Harlan); her brother, Jamie Caldwell (Karen Sue); her brother in law PJ Hum and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Karen's deep love for her husband, Randy, was at the heart of everything she did, and together they built a lifetime of cherished memories. Married for 40 years, their shared passion for adventure took them on unforgettable journeys, from exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska to embarking on countless road trips across the open roads of the West. When she wasn't discovering new places, Karen found simple joy and quiet contentment at home, where she loved losing herself in a good book or preparing delicious, heartfelt meals for the people she loved.
Karen’s greatest adventure was the life and love she shared with Randy, a journey that will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Memorials may also be made out in her name to St. Jude's Children's hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org.
