Karen Jo Riggin, 65, of Little Rock, passed away on June 17, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1960, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Karen worked as a bus driver for the City of Little Rock and was known for her kind heart and lively personality. She cared deeply for her passengers and brought a smile to many faces during her years of service.

At home, Karen loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking big meals and had a special talent for making even the oddest recipe—like meatballs with jelly—taste amazing. She had a fun, sassy side and always spoke her mind, but underneath it all, she had a heart full of love.

Her family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren and her three beloved dogs, who she called her “three little fur babies.” Karen also enjoyed her daily soap operas and never missed an episode.

She is survived by her husband, John Riggin; her daughter, Chasity Renee Helzer, and son-in-law, Nicholas; her son, Tommy James Helzer; 27 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Colleen, and her brother, Randy.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Dorothy Moore, her son John Thomas, her grandson Austin, as well as her brothers.

She will be remembered for her love, her laughter, and the way she made everyone around her feel special.
