Katharine Valrie Phillips Blansett

Katharine Valrie Phillips Blansett, age 86, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

She was born in Strong on May 19, 1937, the daughter of Neamon Phillips and Lavina Anderson Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter T. Blansett, Jr.; and her three brothers, John A. Phillips, Jerry L. Phillips, and Charles R. Phillips.

Katharine married the love of her life Walter, on June 11, 1959, in El Dorado. She was an active member of the VFW Post 8671 Auxiliary. Katharine was remembered for loving Bingo. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael W. (Lil) Blansett of Chesapeake, Virginia, James C. (Cheryl) Blansett of Little Rock, and Douglas (Sheri) Blansett of Murfreesboro; her granddaughter, Valrie F. Blansett of Montros, Colorado; her two grandsons, Christopher Wakefield and Kyle E. Blansett both of Colorado; her stepgrandson, George (Chelsea) Ross of Austin, Texas; her special friend, Windel L. Crawley of Gurdon; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Murfreesboro Cemetery with Bro. John David Watson officiating. 

Cremation arrangements are held under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
