Kathryne Olene Jordan

December 31, 1937 — August 25, 2023

Bismarck

Kathryne Olene Jordan went home to be with the Lord, August 25, 2023, at the age of 85.  She was born December 21, 1937, to Jona and Faye (Nichols) Phillips in Point Cedar, Arkansas, and she lived in The Beaton Community most of her life.

She loved The Lord, her family and the place where she lived.  She was baptized in Valley Missionary Baptist Church, and she was a member of New Beginnings Outreach located at Freehill Church.  She loved to volunteer at The Hope Thrift Store and The Hope Outreach Food Bank in Point Cedar.  She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1957.

She had retired from The Wal-Mart Corporation with twenty-nine years of dedicated service.  She loved to work at Wal-Mart, where she made so many friends over the years.  She loved to be outside, and she loved working in the yard.

“Mother” Faye and her would ride around in a Kawasaki 4-wheeler mule over to her grandfathers, Henry Clay Phillips’ homestead to share memories and to Lake DeGray whenever possible.  She enjoyed her newly acquired childhood farm property, next door, and watching Tim clearing the property with a backhoe and a tractor. Then, she watched as the deer ate up the sorghum and potato patches.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jona and Faye Phillips; her sister, Dorothy Jean (Phillips) and her brother-in-law, William Forsythe of Orlando, Florida; her nephew, Nick Forsythe of California and her daughter-in-law, Jubilee Jordan of Tucson Arizona.

She will be missed by Tim and Linda Jordan of Point Cedar, Aaron and Vickey Jordan of Point Cedar (Beaton Community) and Terry Jordan of Tucson, Arizona; her grandchildren: Joshua Jordan of Point Cedar, Jessica Jordan of Alexander, Arkansas, Jona Jordan and Carolyn Smith of Conway, Arkansas and Gabe Jordan of Benton, Arkansas, Austin Brewton of Conway Arkansas and Megan Sears of Texarkana, Texas;  two great-grandchildren: Kaydie Jordan of Point Cedar and Remi Smith of Texarkana, Texas; one great uncle, Lenoard Nichols Jr. of Florida; one nephew, Steve and Cathy Forsythe and their children: Dana, Petra and Avalon of Illinois.

A graveside service will be conducted by her son, Reverend Tim Jordan at The Beaton Methodist Church Cemetery in Point Cedar Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Allen Libel, Josh Jordan, Jessica Jordan, Jona Jordan, Gabe Jordan, Austin Brewton, Kacey Pledger, and Aaron Jordan.
