Kemari De'Shun Lewis

Listen to Obituary

With hearts that ache beyond words, we announce the passing of Kemari De’Shun Lewis, a beautiful baby boy whose eight weeks of life brought immeasurable joy and light to those who knew him.

Kemari was the happiest little boy. He smiled often, rarely cried, and had a peaceful spirit that could be felt the moment he was near. He loved watching cartoons, being spoiled with love, and gazing into his mommy’s face — a face he always searched for whenever she left the room. He was deeply bonded to her, finding comfort simply in her presence. Strong and curious, Kemari enjoyed holding his head up, eager to see the world around him, and he was a good eater who brought pride and happiness to his family with every small milestone.

Music filled Kemari’s days, especially the song “Sun/Son,” which his mother played for him often. That song became a reflection of who Kemari was to her — her sunshine, her warmth, her son. As loved ones leave the service, this song will play in his honor, carrying him gently in their hearts.

Kemari was affectionately known by many names. His Ganny loved him beyond measure and lovingly called him “Ganny Man,” while his grandpa called him “Lips,” names that will forever echo with tenderness and love.

Kemari is survived by his devoted mother; his grandparents, Victoria Yancy and Damien Watson; his aunt, Harley Watson; and his five uncles, Haven Watson, Damien Watson Jr., DeVonta Watson, Kaelen Yancy, and Kam’ron Yancy, all of whom will carry his memory for a lifetime.

Though his time on earth was heartbreakingly brief, Kemari’s life was full. He was cherished, adored, and deeply loved every moment he was here. His smile, his gentle presence, and the love he gave so freely will never be forgotten.

Kemari De’Shun Lewis will forever be his mother’s son — shining still, now and always.

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”

— Matthew 19:14
