Kenneth D. Hammonds, 77, of North Little Rock and Heber Springs, passed away June 30, 2021. He was born December 6, 1943 to the late W.D. and Bernice (Davis) Hammonds.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and never missed his sons games. He dedicated his career to banking where his focus was on the relationship side of the business. His passion for banking excelled him to Executive VP of Twin City Bank and then to CEO of the Arkansas Bankers Association before where he retired after a four decade career. He served on dozens of boards including March of Dimes and the Boys and Girls Club. His passion in retirement was his service on the board of the Family Home. He was always there for his family and was also a father to many of his sons friends in the NLRHS class of 91-94.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years, Sheila Cannon Hammonds; brothers, Jerry and Gary Hammonds. Survivors include sons, Patrick Hammonds and Derek Hammonds; nieces: Laura Joplin (Steve), Tonya Highcock and Courtney Irby (Bryan); nephews: Scott Hammonds and Jeremy McClure (Laura); and a sister-in-law, Nedra McClure.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East “C “Avenue, North Little Rock. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs. Online guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
