Kenneth Hicks

Kenneth L. Hicks was born May 8, 1922, and passed away May 17, 2009 at Springhill Baptist Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Oak Grove community in Lonoke County, Arkansas.
Kenneth was a veteran of World War II, serving as a chief cook in the First Armored Division. He was the longest living member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Jeff and Beuna Vesta Duffy Hicks; son J. L. Hicks; four brothers, Bill, Ben, Lossie and T.J. Hicks; seven sisters, Minnie, Pheba, Mattie, Maggie, Lucy, Addie and Florence.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Margie Lee Williams Hicks; two daughters, Duffie (Kenneth) Gibson and Nelda (Clarence) Harwell; two sons, Bennie (Lyn) Hicks and Randy (Sandy) Hicks, all of Austin; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
