Kenneth Jenkins

Kenneth Wayne Jenkins went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born on July 4, 1943 in Sylvan Grove, Alabama, to the late Trecy Roberts Jenkins and Olen "Boots" Jenkins.
Ken relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1972 with Air Products and Chemicals, where he retired as a Regional Manager after 35 years of service. He enjoyed boating on Greers Ferry Lake and was infamous for his homemade cathead biscuits. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide and Arkansas Razorback fan.
Ken was a beloved husband, father and the very best grandpa. We are thankful for the time we had him in our lives and will always remember him as the southern gentleman he was.
He is survived by "his girl" and love of his life, wife Loraine House Jenkins; sons, Dewayne Jenkins (Jackie), Frankie House (Pam) and Brian House (Melissa); daughter Carla House-Johnson (Chuck); grandchildren, Lauren and Morgan Johnson, Katelyn Dempster (Wyn), Hank, Clint, Jared and Marisa House, Cameron and Evan Jenkins; and his little buddy, great grandson, Beckham Johnson who was the best medicine Pawpaw could have. He was preceded by his brothers, Arthur and Therell Roberts.
Ken worshipped the Lord at North Little Rock First Assembly of God and was a member of Applied Life Sunday School class.
A special thanks to Dr. Jack Fendley, his nurse Kathi, Dr. David Greenwood and the CCU nurses at Springhill Baptist Hospital.
Memorials may be made in Ken's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. also at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.
