Kenneth "Sonny" Wilkerson

Kenneth "Sonny" Wilkerson, age 78, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

He was born on March 4, 1945, in Weleetka, Oklahoma, the son of Homer Walter Wilkerson and Dorothy Vernon Lewis. He preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Earline Wilson; and his half-brother, Jack Hammond.

On May 13, 1967, Sonny married the love of his life, Ida Wilkerson. He was a member of Sunny Side Church in Pleasant Plains. Sonny had an amazing work ethic, he spent his entire working career as a carpenter, building countless houses with his own business. Sonny loved to hunt and was an avid razorback fan. Sonny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ida Wilkerson of Glenwood; his son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Shelly Wilkerson of Reserve, Louisiana; his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Dustin Baird of Hannibal, Missouri; his five grandchildren, Joshua Wilkerson, Joseph and Amber Wilkerson; Ashley Barnes, and Jeffery Brewer; his fourteen great-grandchildren; his two sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Don Cress and Sue Deeds, all of Columbia, Missouri; his brother Danny Wilkerson of Melbourne; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
