Kenny D Risner, age 64, of Point Cedar, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. He was born on August 20, 1953 in Nashville, Arkansas, the son of Omer Risner and Esperence Porter Risner. On July 8, 1982, he was married to Sheila Tart. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was employed with Kroger and a member of the Bismarck Pentecostal Church. If he wasnt telling stories or spinning a yarn, he loved to hunt and loved to play with his grandbabies. At church, he was known as the Candyman. He would pass out candy to everyone, make hand fans and buy blankets for the pews. He also made powder horns, one of which belongs to Bill Clinton. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Risner of Point Cedar; two sons and daughters-in-law, Loyd and Angela Pittman of Alpine and Luke and Alesia Pittman of Mabelvale; four grandchildren; one great-grandbaby on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Treva Risner of Amity and Keith and Rita Risner of Glenwood; and his nieces and nephew. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Van Glidewell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the chapel. Interment will be in Philippi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kenny Risner Memorial Fund at Diamond Bank. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
