LaReva Holland Mayo, 97, of North Little Rock passed away to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 28, 2026. She was born on November 28, 1928, in Trees, Louisiana, to Dock and Georgie Holland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James “Joe” Johnson, Sr., and her sons Dale Johnson and Joe Johnson, Jr. Also, preceding her were her parents and her brothers Herbert Holland and Arvle Sirmans, and sisters Margie Holland Chance and Faye Holland Kraft.
Reva is survived by her husband, Delbert Mayo, son Mark Shelby (Rhonda), daughters Lisa Spigner (Mike), and Theresa Crowder and grandchildren Mark Jr, Matthew, Carly, Kelsey, Lindsey, Will, Blake, Joanna, Adam, Christy, Shannon, and Michael as well as 18 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was richly blessed by so many who loved her.
She was baptized as a teenager at Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock. For most of her adult life she was a member of and raised her children in Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock and in her later years attended First Baptist Church of Sherwood. She was once asked what she enjoyed doing the most, and she replied that she loved to tell people about God and share her faith with them.
She will be remembered for her sweetness, her optimism, and never letting her age define what she could do. She said that “as long as I’m able, I’m going to get up, put on my face, and get out and enjoy myself.” Whether it was playing in the pool or baseball in the front yard with her grandkids, she was always ready to join in the fun.
She adored her children, and never stopped bragging about her grandchildren, believing them all to be the most beautiful, handsome, smart, and accomplished of all. She was “Mamaw Honey” to many, whether they were hers by birth or by choice..
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday March 5, 2026 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
