Larry Mack Garner

Larry Mack Garner, age 74, of Amity, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

He was born on September 3, 1952 in Nashville. He was the son of Alvin Joe Gene Garner and Willie Jean Cantrell Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Rickie and Lillie Garner.

Larry married the love of his life, Darlene, on August 7, 1982. He attended the Amity Assembly of God Church. He worked as a logger for many years. Larry loved to joke, fish, and hunt. He never met a stranger and loved to visit. Most of all he loved the Lord and his family. Larry was a wonderful husband, father, papa, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darlene Garner of Amity; his two children and their spouses, Larry Michael and Christy Garner of Donaldson and Briana Nicole and Glen Wilder of Amity; his grandchildren, Adrianna and Brandon Qualls, Kailey and JJ Jordan, Andrew and Danielle Kizer, and Glen Wilder, Jr. II; his great-grandchildren, Isaac, Preston, Clara Mae, Karter, Maylynn, and Madelynn; his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Darcy Garner and Danny and Sheri Garner; his special loved ones, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Garner, Andrew Kizer, Glen Wilder, Jr. II, Curt Beavert, Randy Gill, and Phillip Melton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Thomason and Glen Wilder.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Elite Hospice for the wonderful care.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Amity Assembly of God Church with Bro. David Walker officiating.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to services on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Amity Assembly of God Church.

Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Alpine.
