Larry Douglas Wallis, 87, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. He was born to William Noah and Maude Wallis on July 22, 1938, in Marshall, Arkansas, and lived a life shaped by hard work, service, and love for his family.

Larry owned and operated his own barber shop in Windemere in Little Rock for more than 40 years. He took pride in his work and built lasting relationships with those he served in the community.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Larry did not care for attention, but he enjoyed life and the people around him. He loved teasing his family in a loving way and could often be found talking a little smack during a game of pool.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks, fishing, tinkering in his yard, and spending time with family.

Larry is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Carol Lynn Wallis; his sons, Scott (Cathy) Wallis and Wade (DeAnna) Wallis; his bonus daughters, Shannon McCoy, Robyn (Neal) Reeves, and Jamie Ables; his grandchildren: Brandon (Katie) Wallis, Austin (Cheyenne) Wallis, Brooke (Caleb) Harpole, Sierra Elmore, Morgan (Jordan) Wallis, Alyxiss (Lance) Wallis-Vann, Chase (Lindsay) Geary, Jamie (Andrew) Bell, Rebekah (Mark) Dancy-Harper, McKinley Ables, and Jackson Ables;14 great-grandchildren; and many other close family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Blake, Dorsey, Wyeth Lee, Joe, Jimmy, Jacqueline, Daphne, Susan, and Mary Rose.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to DAV – Disabled American Veterans.
