Larry Dale Wright

Larry D. Wright, age 74, of Glenwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born July 12, 1952, in Amity, Arkansas, to the late Andy and Opal Jane (Howell) Wright.

Larry was a graduate of Amity High School and attended Henderson State University on an Art Scholarship. He was a man of many talents, one of which was being a very gifted artist, as he even displayed some pieces for exhibition. He loved to paint angels with praying hands and wings that could touch the sky, landscapes so vivid you could imagine being right there, and abstract pieces with geometric shapes and designs which stood out in a room. Beyond the canvas, Larry channeled his creativity into master carpentry. He spent many years in Dallas, Texas, working as an elite staircase artisan. Larry was a faithful member of the Glenwood Church of Christ.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Opal Wright; brothers Johnny Wright, Kenneth Wright, and Orville Wright.

He is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Sheila Clavelle Wright of Glenwood; his sons, Brian Wright (Dee) of Malvern and Jerrod Wright (Amanda) of Texas, Step son Slade Carrier of North Carolina; and his daughter, Lindsey “Cricket” Sitzes (Adam) of Texas; Sister Mary Alice Wright Blain (Marshal) of Sherwood, AR, and sisters-in-laws, Patricia Wright of Sparkman, Charlie Duckworth of Louisiana, and Malissa (Steve) Plantif of Louisiana.

He leaves behind his grandchildren Lainey Morrison, Logan Wright, Hayden Wright, Sidney Wright, Olivia Sitzes, Amelia Sitzes, and Liam Sitzes, Shaylee Blayd, and Kylie Carrier. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PAWS of Glenwood, as Larry loved his cats Asia, Bella, and Jazzy. They were so special to him and gave him so much love.
