Laura Delores “Dee” Horton, age 83, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2026, in Beebe. She was born on August 19, 1942, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Lois and Woodrow Jones.
Dee was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lois and Woodrow Jones; her husband and love of her life, Jack Horton; her brother, Woody Jones; and her daughter, Cindy Horton.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Conder (John) of Sherwood; her daughters, D’Ann James (Cliff) of Beebe and Jackie Wiles (Zach) of Beebe; her cherished great-granddaughters, Paydon Wiles and Kaydee Wiles of Beebe; as well as an aunt, a cousin, several nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Dee married the love of her life, Jack Horton, on December 24, 1958, marking the beginning of a partnership filled with love and devotion. Though his life was cut short, Jack remained forever in Dee’s heart. She enjoyed bowling and was a proud member of the Little Rock Women’s Bowling Association, a pastime she enjoyed for many years and shared with dear friends and her daughter D’Ann. She also loved rooting for the Razorbacks, camping, and fishing. Her love for softball started early on when she coached both of her daughters in youth softball and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time at the softball fields watching her great-grandbabies play the sport they love. Family was the center of Dee’s world, and her pride in them was evident to all who knew her.
She worked faithfully for approximately 15 years at Family Life Ministries as a mail processing accountant, where she was known for her dedication and kind spirit. Dee was also a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Gravel Ridge for more than 16 years, where she taught 2/3 year old Sunday school classes and watched the nursery. Her faith and love for others were evident in her life and relationships.
Dee was often remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and her warm, loving nature—everyone who met her loved her. Dee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on forever.
