Eva Laurine (Presley) Langley, age 88, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was born November 24, 1923, in Donaldson, Arkansas, the daughter of James Wesley and Eva (Ward) Presley.
Laurine's father was a postman and her mother was a homemaker. As the eldest child in a family of seven children, Laurine learned to work hard and become a great cook, gardener, and seamstress. She and Louis Whitfield Langley were married as teenagers and became parents to two sons as they worked together on the farm. Later, she worked at Levi Strauss and Vassarette as a seamstress and also did sewing from her home for the public. Laurine was a devout Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sparkman, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis Langley, sons James Whitfield Langley and Hubert Leon Langley, and three brothers Ralph, John, and Riley Presley.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Evelyn Porter of Sparkman, Arkansas and Marie Caddy and husband Morris of Bismarck, Arkansas; brother Thomas Presley and wife Amy of Rowlette, Texas; daughter-in-law Sue Wright Langley of Idabel, Oklahoma; special friend Roy Preuett and wife Carol of Benton, Arkanasas; beloved grandchildren Jill Drake and husband Jim of Star City, Arkansas; Gary W. Langley and wife Sherry of Harmony Grove, Arkansas; Courtney J. Mitchell and husband Matt of Fort Worth, Texas; Lon W. Langley and wife Leigh of Yukon, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Ryan Rogers of Star City, Arkansas; Tess and Gabriel Langley of Harmony Grove, Arkansas; Lauren, Luke, and Lane Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jackson Langley of Yukon, Oklahoma.
Services will be held Thursday, October 18th at the First Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. James Guthrie and Bro. Virgil Romine officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Atchley Cemetery in Dalark, Arkansas. Sign online guest book at
