LaVerne Sevedge Hale of Vinity, Arkansas passed away May 25, 2024. She was born to William Roscoe Sevedge and Lydia Mae Howland on October 24, 1930, in Garner, Arkansas.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, William R., and Lydia H. Sevedge; husband, John Kenneth Hale; brother O.W. Sevedge; sister Velda Sevedge; daughter Bonnie Branson; grandson Jeb Branson; and great grandson Barrett Westin Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter Rita Anderson of Eads, Tennessee; niece Vicki Sevedge of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandsons, John P. Anderson (Tracy) of Eads, Tennessee, and Mark P. Anderson (Jennifer) of Alcoa, Tennessee; granddaughter Marla Branson Walter (Michael) of St. Augustine, Florida; and six great grandchildren, Zack and McKinley Anderson, Owen and Aiden Anderson and Owen and Bonnie Walter.
LaVerne was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. She taught at Beebe Public Schools for 33 years. She remained active in the educational organization Delta Kappa Gamma; served on the White County Farm Bureau Board, the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee; served as secretary/treasurer of the Cheek Cemetery Association; and remained active for years with the White County Extension (Homemakers). After she retired from teaching, she served many years as Postmaster Relief for Garner, Arkansas.

The visitation will be Thursday, May 30th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Cheek Cemetery, Vinity, Arkansas.
