Lawrence "Larry" Martin Angyal

Lawrence “Larry” Martin Angyal, aka “Bud”, 62, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away April 11, 2024. He was born on January 29, 1962 in Monett, Missouri to Lawrence William Angyal and Edna Mae (Conley) Angyal.

Larry is preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Zoltan and Evelyn Angyal, and Martin and Mary Conley.

Larry is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Kristy (Moore); four children - Lawrence “Tanner” of North Little Rock, Patrick (Connie) of Springdale, Aryn (Wade) of Plano, Texas and Emily of Carbondale, Illinois; mother Edna; sisters Lynn (Dale) Chrisman and Suzanne (Keith) DePriest; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Larry graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture in 1986. It was there he met his loving wife Kristy. His architecture career began in Allentown, Pennsylvania, prior to him practicing in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a partner with his wife in the firm Kip A. Moore & Associates Architects.  Together they worked on many commercial projects throughout the country.  His passion, however, was for residential design.   He loved meeting with his clients to understand their needs and design the home of their dreams. There was no project too small that was not worthy of his fullest passion and creativity.

For Larry, there were no greater treasures than his family and his faith. He was a stay-at-home dad to his children. By day he cared for his children and by night he supported his family working on his architecture projects. He led by example, teaching honesty, integrity, patience, diligence and appreciation. He also instilled in his children a lifelong curiosity for the world and taught them to seek out knowledge. If anything was worth doing, it was worth doing right. He was very meticulous. Larry also taught them to care for what they have been blessed with and to value choice craftsmanship. To say he adored and cherished his mother and sisters would be an understatement. What a special blessing they were to him!

He loved growing up in Missouri and especially his trips to Grandma and Grandpa Conley’s farm in Wentworth. In his teens, he loved traveling with his dad on his candy and tobacco route, and later routes selling and delivering tires for Friend Tire to various establishments across Oklahoma and Kansas. Many years later in his adulthood, he retraced his father’s delivery routes through these two states, visiting many of those locations, some of which are still in operation. The joy in his eyes and excitement in his voice while sharing these memories with his family was priceless.

Larry was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he volunteered as sacristan for 24 years - 13 of which he served as sole sacristan. He also served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and usher. Larry was dependable. The priests and deacons he served appreciated his attention to detail and his care in preparing for Mass.

Larry was a man of many interests. He was a member of the Two-Cylinder Tractor Club and proudly drove the John Deere tractor his grandfather used on the Conley Farm. Larry coached his daughters’ school soccer team to many victories. He was involved in his sons’ Boy Scout activities and spent many nights camping in the bed of his truck. He had a deep and eclectic appreciation of music and for many years patronized the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Larry himself took banjo lessons and enjoyed developing his own musical talents.

The family of Larry Angyal acknowledges with sincere appreciation the comforting messages and other expressions of kindness during this time of bereavement. Special thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses at Baptist Hospital-Springhill in North Little Rock for their loving care and compassion to the family. May God bless you all.
