Lela McCauley

Lela McCauley, 76, of Newhope, Arkansas, passed away on  Thursday, January 19, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was born on December 2, 1946, in Sherwood, Oklahoma, to Si Benjamin Sanders and Tena Hill Sanders.

Lela loved spending time with her family.  She was an active member of Mt. Joy Freewill Baptist Church in Daisy

She worked for The Glove Factory of Glenwood, and Husqvarna Outdoor Products of Nashville.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Douglas Sanders, Eugene Sanders and Si Sanders and her sisters Lois Sanders, Virginia Blair and Baby Girl Sanders.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-six years, Ricky Dean McCauley of Newhope; her son, Roger Dean McCauley of Newhope; her daughter, Rebecca Louise Brewer of Kirby; her grandchildren, Megan McCauley, Justin McCauley and his wife, Gabby, Shawn Brewer and Cameron Brewer; her six great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Jane Flowers of Nashville and Ann Sanders of Idabel, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Lela’s visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in  the Mt. Joy Freewill Baptist Church in Daisy, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery in Daisy.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Brewer, Cameron Brewer, Justin McCauley, Jeffery Flowers, Greg Wright and Edmond Lambeth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in  memory of Lela to the Mt. Joy Cemetery Fund, 3791 Highway 70 West, Kirby, Arkansas 71950.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood, 209 N 3^rd Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
