Lela Strange

Lela Strange, 77, of McRae, Arkansas was born August 27, 1940 at McRae to Ollie and Helen (McAfee) Strayhorn. She passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. She served on the McRae City Council eighteen years, was PTA president at McRae School for eight years and owned McRae Flower Shop for twenty years. She also coached girls' softball. Lela was a fantastic mother of three daughters, and she worshipped her grandchildren. Lela was always helping people regardless of the circumstance.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Strange of the home, Portia Pierce (Greg), and Jerrie Willbanks (Buster); grandson Kody Willbanks; great-grandchildren Tyler Newman and Brentlee Newman; brother Kenneth Strayhorn (Beth); aunt Catherine Stark and sister-in-law Barbara (Strayhorn) Westbrook.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Gerral Strange; grandson Nick Newman; her parents; brothers Farriel, Bernice and Joe; and mother-in-law Helen Strange.
