Leo E. Small

February 13, 1926 — February 15, 2014

Leo E. Small, age 88, of Glenwood, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was born on February 13, 1926, in the Mount Tabor community, the son of A. L. Small and Isabell Nancy Dillard Small. On March 29, 1957, he was married to Edith Horn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and six sisters, Flossie Small, Jewell Wright, Edythe Reppo, Cleodis Small, Adell Smith and Kathryn Long. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Soil Conservation Service as an Inspector. He enjoyed spending time outdoors on his farm, watching all kinds of sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks, but his greatest love was being with his family. Leo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but will forever remain in each of their hearts. He is survived by his wife, Edith Small of Glenwood; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Small, his best friend and companion, of Glenwood, and Jeff and Jeanette Small of Atkins; two grandchildren, Heath Kizer and Heather Albright, and her husband, Danny; two great-grandsons, Athan Kizer and Reid Albright; one sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Doug Hawkins of Washington, D.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. James Owens officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Whit Smith, Steve Reppo, Scott Smith, Alan Rosenau and Gene Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be his "coffee friends" from the OK Cafe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1160, Glenwood, Arkansas, 71943, to the Mount Tabor Cemetery Fund, c/o Jim or Karroll Morphew, 1501 Dollar Road, Glenwood, Arkansas or to Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas, 71901.
