Leoma Kay Adkins was born on June 10, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and passed away on January 6, 2026. Throughout her life, Leoma was known for her strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. She proudly served in law enforcement as an inmate supervisor before beginning a second career at Bass Pro Shops, where she worked for eleven years. No matter the role, Leoma gave her best and took pride in a job well done.
Above all else, Leoma loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart, and they lovingly knew her as “Pon Pon.” She was famous for greeting them with a cheerful “Hey Bud,” a small phrase that carried so much of her warmth and personality. Leoma had a lively spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a stubborn streak she wore proudly—traits that made her unforgettable to those who loved her. Her family cherishes the time spent with her, especially with the most recent trip of getting to go to the last winning football game of the Razorbacks with her son, Roger, and grandson, Zach, in the 2025 season.
Leoma also adored her faithful companions, her dog Elmo and her cat Little One, who brought her comfort and companionship over the years.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Hardin of Benton, Arkansas, and Roger Kalas and his wife Erin of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Zachary Kalas; Jacob Heird and wife Rheagan; Kaylee McGee and husband Jackson; Tracker Hardin and wife Tabitha; and Skie Guyton and husband Cameron. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Rowan Billingsley, Bobby McGee, Hunter Hardin, Wesley Hardin, Roman Guyton, Cassian Guyton, and Amari Guyton. Leoma is also survived by her sisters, Daisy, Sandy, Paula, and Joy, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Adkins and Nellie (Sanders) Shelton.
Leoma Kay Adkins will be remembered for her dedication, her love of family, her humor, and the simple moments that made life richer for everyone around her.
