Leonard Willis Floyd, age 91, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Arkadelphia. He was born November 22, 1919 in Clark County Arkansas the son of the late Leonard Charlie and Millie Roberts Floyd. Leonard was a retired auto body repairman and worked at Harding Glass Co. in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was a member of Oaklawn United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, a very active member of the Masonic Lodge, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Helen Kelly Floyd on March 18, 2009. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Floyd and Charles (Jr.) Floyd; and two sisters, Lela Kirksey and Lorena Sossamon.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby Floyd and wife Sue of Laneburg, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Joyce Floyd of Prescott, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Duel Kelly and wife, Sue of Okolona, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews including one special nephew, Gene Banks and wife, Pat of Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Graveside services will at 10:00 AM Friday May 13th at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery, P. O. Box 195, Amity, Arkansas 71921.
