Leonard Joe Neal (Lenny)

Leonard Joe Neal, known to many as Lenny, was born on February 12, 1949, in Winona, Missouri. He passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas.

Leonard served his country proudly as a veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he worked diligently at the Conway Landfill until his retirement. He was a hard worker, committed to his responsibilities even when no one was watching. He was known for his honesty, hard work and integrity. He always said, "If you can't tell the truth, then it's time to stop talking!"

Leonard's interests included motorcycle trips, working on his yard, sharing the fruits and vegetables from his garden with others and working in his shop. Leonard was a faithful follower of Christ and shared his love for the Lord with anyone that would listen. He attended New Hope Baptist Church on 64 until he was unable. 

He is survived by his five children: Daughters: Tammy McEuen; Tina Stapleton and her husband Stanley; Carol Newsome and her husband Cornell Sr.; Sherry Morris and her husband Jessie; and Son; Ricky Neal and his wife Amanda. He was a proud grandpa and Poppi to Shuntana Newsome, David Morris, Michelle Morris, Tiffany Neal, Katie Neal, Jack Stapleton, and Colton Neal. Leonard's great-grandchildren, Israel and Messiah Aragon, Candice and Ethan Butterfield, Tyus Sanders, and Hazel Tollett, will also carry on his legacy.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Cranford and Anderson Neal, his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen Neal; his son, Scott Neal; and his grandson, Cornell Newsome Jr.

Leonard Neal’s life was one of faith, hard work, and a genuine love for his family. He will be remembered for his steadfast honesty, his dedication to his loved ones, and the quiet strength with which he faced life. His memory will be in our hearts until we see him again.
