Lewis Carol Smith, 84, of Sherwood went to be with his Lord Friday, March 24, 2017. He was born August 27, 1932 in Maguire, Oklahoma to Lewis M. Smith and Nettie Mae Townley.
Lewis was a longtime member of Sherwood First Baptist Church. He worked at Mill & Mine Supply for 35 years as a salesman selling Industrial supplies and was a veteran of the Korean War. He has taught high school boys in Sunday school and coached 13-15 yr old boy's baseball. Lewis was an avid fisherman and his sons have many memories of time spent with him catching bass, crappie and red-ear bream. He was a great husband and father and took every opportunity to show his family how much he loved and cared for them.
Lewis was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother, Lillian Smith and his brother, Harold Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josie Smith. He is survived by his sons, Terry Michael Smith (Cindy), Cary D. Smith, Eric Smith (Isabel), Drew Smith (Linda); and daughter, Malinda Lenex (Larry); grandchildren, Emily (Dash), Ethan (Amanda), Jacob and Cassidy, Sally (Matt), Tony, Ian, Liesa, Merril, Katy, Dennis; great granddaughter Molly and 7 other great grandchildren; sister, Karen Green (Paul); and other extended family.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10:30 am at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
