Linda Sue
Alexander
August 23, 1943 – February 26, 2026
Linda Sue Alexander is healed, whole, and free of this world and its troubles, standing in the presence of her Savior, Jesus. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the age of 82 on February 26, 2026.
Linda traveled extensively, both for her own enjoyment and as a much sought-after instructor in the art of painting fine china. She was admired near and far for her unique and exquisite style, generously gifting hand-painted pieces to family and friends. These treasures remain priceless keepsakes she leaves behind, along with the many memories shared with her. She kept her friends, family, and acquaintances entertained with her eccentric style, blunt humor, and mischievous tendencies. She was quick to defend those who were struggling, held a palpable distaste for self-importance, and when she encountered true excellence, she responded with quiet but heartfelt admiration. Linda intentionally looked for reasons to be proud of the people she loved, and she made a point to tell them how proud she was.
Linda was born on August 23, 1943, in Coffeeville, Mississippi. Though she lived a tumultuous childhood, her world shifted when her brother Bill presented the gospel to her in her young adulthood. Upon giving her life to Christ, Linda began life anew. Her greatest joy in life came from being a mother to her son, Randy; later, a mother-in-law to Kymm; and then “Nana” to her grandchildren, Kade, Ashlyn, and Rede (Casey) Alexander, all of whom survive her.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen Williams McCauley; her husband, Charles Alexander; her brothers, Frank (Carolyn) and William; as well as her beloved sister-in-law, Sonja McCauley, who was more like a sister to her.
She is survived by her sisters, May Menefee (Frank) and Alberta Pearson; her brother, Richard (Kathleen); and her many nieces and nephews, including Michael McCauley (Kay), Rebecca Cranford, Elizabeth Davis (Rob), and Anna Moscovitz (Brett), to whom she was like a second mother. Linda is also survived by a host of great- and great-great-nieces and nephews who thoroughly entertained her.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rest Hills Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Please return to this website for further obituary updates.
