Linda Arlene (Downing) Block of Greenbrier, Arkansas, age 68, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Linda was born February 8, 1956 in Spokane, Washington to the late Kenneth Downing and Bertie (Small) Downing. While growing up with a father in the Air Force, the family traveled often, including two years in Germany. They spent those two years traveling across Europe visiting Poland, Austria, and France as well as many other countries. As the story goes while in Germany, when her mother would try to talk to someone, she would ask Linda what the word was in German, and Linda wouldn’t tell her. So Linda was always frustrating her mother by speaking in German. I guess she was one of those military “brats”, but she was truly a daddy’s girl. He would send her down the road to the store with a gallon jug, where they would fill it with his beer. The family moved back to the states via Moses Lake, Washington for five years, a stint in Texas, and finally to Arkansas where they settled. For many years Linda worked as a Store Manager for the family business, National Travelers RV Center. Throughout the many experiences in her life, Linda felt like her biggest accomplishment was raising her two boys into fine young men who have made her so proud!
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Downing, and Bertie (Small) Downing, and a beloved daughter-in-law…Anda (Whitten) Block.
She is survived by her two sons, Chris Block (Jaime) of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Shaun Block (Ashley) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, a brother Ronald Downing (Brandi) of Beaverton, Oregon; and Pamela Downing (Mickey) of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Grandsons, Drew Block of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Cole Block of Greenbrier, Arkansas, William Block of North Little Rock, AR, and Keegan Cheney of Greenbrier, Arkansas. Granddaughter’s Catherine Block of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Zoey Cheney of Greenbrier, Arkansas. Nephews Will Downing of Sikeston, Missouri, Dustin Downing (Hannah) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Rowdy Baribeau of Bryant, Arkansas. Niece’s April Downing Cook (Scott) of Sikeston, Missouri, Jasmine Morgan (Sean) of Kelso, Washington, and Ellie Baribeau of Bryant, Arkansas. Great Nephew’s Hudson Cook of Sikeston, Missouri, William (Ken) Downing Jr. of Sikeston, Missouri. Great Niece Ari Rose Mezyk of Kelso, Washington, and many more!

Linda’s soul has entered a beautiful chapter that emerged from the pain and suffering she experienced before her passing…but now there is eternal harmony, love and happiness. Linda will be alright…but she will truly be missed and loved forever.
