Linda Brashears Brown

Linda Brashears Brown, 77, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away September 13, 2026. She was born February 26, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Adrian and Geraldine (Jones) Brashears.

Linda was a hardworking woman who believed in taking care of the people she loved. In fact, she retired not just once, but twice—first from Avaya and later from SSA Marine. As a single mother, Linda worked tirelessly to provide for her family, showing through her life the strength, determination, and devotion that those closest to her knew so well.

Above everything else, Linda loved her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. There was very little she wouldn't do for those she loved. Rarely did a night pass without Linda calling to check in, making sure everyone was okay and that all was right in their world. That was simply Linda—always thinking about the people she loved.

She was especially proud of her grandchildren and made every effort to attend their events and activities. Having Grandma there cheering them on was something they could count on.

Linda also had an incredibly giving and generous heart. She enjoyed participating in charitable events and supporting causes that mattered to her, including cancer walks, autism awareness events, and many others. If there was an opportunity to help or encourage someone, Linda wanted to be part of it.

Linda and her husband, Robert, were avid Arkansas Razorback fans and proud season ticket holders. Their support didn't stop with the regular season—they traveled to cheer on the Hogs at their bowl games as well. Linda also had a place in her heart for the New Orleans Saints.

Some of Linda's favorite memories were made while traveling. She especially looked forward to the many "girl trips" and cruises she shared with her daughter and other family members. Whether she was traveling somewhere special, cheering on her favorite team, settling in to watch a Netflix show, or simply spending time with the people she loved most, Linda knew how to enjoy the moments that made life special. She also loved hummingbirds and cardinals, whose beauty always seemed to capture her attention.

Linda's life was centered around love—love for her family, generosity toward others, and a genuine desire to make sure the people around her knew they mattered. Her frequent phone calls, faithful presence, generous spirit, and unwavering support will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those blessed to know and love her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Geraldine (Jones) Brashears; siblings, Evelyn Stoner and Larry Brashears; and father-in-law, W.G. "Buddy" Brown, Jr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 27 years, Robert Brown; daughter, Stacy Brashears Shanto; sons, Robert W. Brown and wife Jennifer and William Ray Brown and wife Katie; grandchildren, Ryan Brashears, Izabella Torrance, and Terry Hicks; brothers, Robert Brashears and wife Patsy and Charles Brashears and wife Barbara; brothers-in-law, Stoney Stoner and William G. Brown, III; sisters-in-law, Pam Crosswhite and husband David and Teresa Ellithorpe; mothers-in-law, Carol Ann Brown and Saundra Morton; best friend since high school, Sally Russell; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who love Linda and will miss her always.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
