Linda Nutt Sweat

Linda Nutt Sweat, age 73, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016. She was born on July 5, 1943, in Trenton, Texas, the daughter of Grady Nutt and Jessie Faye Burmaster Nutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Sweat on December 6, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bobby Ronald Nutt. She was a member of the Hot Springs Women's Welcome Club, was involved with the Elks Club, and also a member of the Emblems Club, #194, where she served as Chaplain. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Karen Gates of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; her stepson, Kevin Sweat and his wife, Carolyn of Glendale, Arizona; her stepdaughter, Cindy Reed and her husband, James, of Elbert, Colorado; two grandchildren, Hailey Gates and Dalton Gates; four step-grandchildren, Kevin Sweat, Jr., Amanda Stoke, Ashley LeMarr and James Reed; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carol Nutt of Glenwood; her sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Rev. Randy Greer of Henderson, Nevada; her very special friend, Carolyn Shackelford of Hot Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery in Amity. Pallbearers will be Ricky Nutt, Terry Gann, Greg Henthorn, Kenny Lyons, Erman Mauldin and Larry Poarch. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
