Linda Diane Woods Proffitt

Linda Diane Woods Proffitt, age 72, of Newhope, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Linda was born on March 17, 1951, in Humboldt, Tennessee to Thomas Dee Woods and Amanda Viola Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Steve Woods and Jeff Woods; and her loving husband of 21 years, Gerald Proffitt.

She moved to Arkansas as a housewife and mother.  At the age of 43, Linda acquired her high school education and truck driving certification.  She held different positions in her career and retired as a Lead Florist at Kroger.

Linda is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Rider, Anthony and Connie Rider, Timothy and Ashley Rider and Thomas and Cyndy Rider; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katie Hall, Debra Goodrich, and Patsy Smith; five brothers, Thomas Woods, Michael Woods, Denise Vinson, Sammy Sanders, and Wayne Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
