Lindsey C. Golden, age 88, of Kirby, died Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born on March 19, 1925, at Fendley, Arkansas, the son of Andy Golden and Eula Wilson Golden. On November 2, 1944, he was married to Mildred Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Lois Golden, Vernal Ashley, Delmas Faye Golden, Rayborn Golden, Irene Portwood and Ray Junior Golden. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers and was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Golden of Kirby; two sons, Travis Golden and Leslie Golden, both of Kirby; his granddaughter, Julia Pry; four great-grandchildren, Lauryn Hill, Hayden Pry, Parker Pry and Christa Pry; and his personal caregivers, Billy and Ima Jean Greenlee. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 21, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood, with Billy Golden and Harloe White officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any children's charity organization. Pallbearers will be Joe Tigue, Stevie Boyd, Larry Mantooth, Jimmy Sweeden, Pete Pedron and Danny Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Bailey, Bill Boyd, Raymond Buck and Charles Yeargan.
