Lionel E. Starr
Mr. Lionel E. Starr, 89 of North Little Rock passed away March 13, 2026. He was a North Little Rock businessman, veteran, and master machinist. He founded General Tool & Engineering Co. in 1964.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Helga Shere Starr, his two sons, Michael Shawn and Douglas Lionel and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are his parents Lee V. and Agnes Shock Starr of Conway. Two sisters, Sue Watson and Janice Harner and brother, Duane Lee Stand and his wife Pat Clifton Starr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 11:30 – 12:30 PM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main St., NLR, AR 72114). A graveside burial will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery (1501 W Maryland Ave, NLR, AR 72120).
